Kappa Delta Pi takes a new member class once a semester. To be eligible for membership you must meet the following requirements:
General Qualifications:
Demonstration of worthy education ideals
Expression of the intention to continue the field of education
Manifestation of desirable professional qualities
Evidence of leadership attributes
Qualifications for undergraduates:
- No less than a first-term sophomore standing (at least 60 semester hours).
- A grade-point average no less than a “B” (i.e., 3.00 out of 4.00) based upon the total previous collegiate record of the student
- Completion of the following Professional Education course: ED 389
- Completion or currently enrolled in the following Professional Education course: ED 393.
- At least twelve (12) semester hours (or the equivalent) of Professional Education courses programmed, in progress, or completed.
Qualifications for graduate students:
- Regular graduate admission status in a degree program within the MAE program
- Completion of six (6) or more semester hours of graduate work applicable to the degree program in which the student is enrolled.
- At least twelve (12) semester hours of Professional Education courses programmed, in progress or completed.
- A cumulative ranking on all graduate work undertaken of at least 3.25 out of 4.0
- A cumulative ranking on all graduate work undertaken of at least 3.25 out of 4.0
The chapter executive board reserves the right to extend or withhold membership of any applicant
